The Captain

Welcome to Rock On Charters . I am Capt. Marc Kerns, a U.S Coast Guard approved Capt.
As an experienced professional, I am always willing to teach guest how to improve their angling skills. Whether educating children or beginners, my approach is always patient and courteous. However, when guiding seasoned anglers, I understand catching is paramount and I do everything possible to locate feeding fish. Over the years, many locals and vacationing anglers agree Rock On fishing charters are satisfying, educational and always a memorable experience.
Ten years ago, I started fishing FLW bass and Striper tournaments up and down the East coast.  I am always trying new and old techniques to improve fishing for the customer, as well as myself.  I am a member of the ASA, FLW, SKA, BASS and other local organizations trying to stay on top of what is going on.  As being part of the D.O.A. Pro staff and Berkley Fishing Pro Guide Staff, I fish with only the best equipment available.  I believe fishing should be a challenge as well as enjoyable, therefore I use a lot of artificial lures instead of cut bait.  I feel using these techniques allows Rock On Charters to provide you with an exciting and memorable fishing experience.

                 The Boats

While fishing with Rock On Charters  you will be aboard a 22' Center Console Skeeter Bay Boat.  This boat is specifically designed for Back country Shallow water fishing.  It is not an ocean boat trying to fish Backwaters.  You are able to take the shortest routes possible to the hot spots and not having to run way out of the way just to get there.  It is rigged for the True Outer Banks style of fishing.  With it being 22' long it also is able to run the same rough water as the rest of the 22' to 25' boats on the water.  The nice thing about the Skeeter Bay is that you are Guaranteed more fishing time and not just a boat ride putzin' around to kill time.  It has been inspected and approved by the U.S. Coast Guard and carries all safety gear  including life vest for the little ones.
It is powered by a 225 H.P.Yamaha, and  rigged with a 36 volt 101lb. thrust Minn-Kota saltwater edition trolling motor to find the shallow running fish.  At it's best, we can get into 9" inches of water. If that's not enough, we can get out and wade the shallows to find what we are looking for.  New for the 2009 season is Pro Edition 8' Power-Pole, no more throwing an anchor everywhere we go.   Along with that it has a Lowrance GPS and a marine radio.  The boat is fully rigged with all the top of the line equipment and gear needed to make it a memorable experience.

If the Ocean is where we are heading, then we can take a fully rigged 21' Triumph, which is the world toughest boat and unsinkable due to it's hull material.  It as well is fully rigged with top of the line equipment and has 3D Sonar along with GPS.

Both boats are powered by
Yamaha performance outboard motors.
