Q: Do you need a N.C. Saltwater Fishing License?
A: NO.  The boat has a For Hire Permit ( Blanket license)

Q: Do you need to bring any tackle or bait?
A: NO. The charter includes all Rods, Reels, and Tackle that will be needed for the day.

Q: Do you need to bring a cooler?
A: The boat has two coolers full of ice for your use.  You will need a cooler to take home your caught fish.

Q: Can we keep our catch?
A: YES, as long as it meets all state regulations. (Sizes and creels must be meet)

Q: Does the charter offer fish cleaning?
A: NO, but there are many cleaning options available in the area.

Q: What do wee need to bring?
A: You will need to bring whatever you want: food, drinks, suntan lotion, camera, sunglasses and proper attire for the weather.

Q: Can you bring children?
A: Please do. They are a blast to fish with and it brings them great joy to catch their own fish.

Q: Do I need to know how to fish?
A: NO.  We will have you casting like a pro by the end of the day, no worries.

Q: What type of fish will we be catching?
A: We will be fishing inshore with light tackle for Speckled Trout, Grey Trout, Flounder, Red Drum, Croaker, etc.

Q: Can we bring our own equipment?
A: YES.  Please discuss this with the captain ahead of time. Thank you

                             DIRECTIONS TO THE BOAT RAMP

 

FROM KITTY HAWK, SOUTHERN SHORE, DUCK & COROLLA:

  1. Take 158 East (the 4 lane bypass - the ocean will be on your left)
    On the side of the road there are milepost markers. Go to Milepost 16
  2. Look for two large green directional signs above the road. Get in right lane. Follow the sign on the right - it will read: Roanoake Island, 64 West, Manteo/Wanchese, right 2 Lanes
  3. Take this route 1.5 miles
  4. You will come to a high rise bridge, the Washington Baum Bridge. Across the sound to your right you will see lots of boats and condos. This is Pirate's Cove Yacht Club.
  5. After crossing the bridge, there will be a traffic light (approximately 500 yds after crossing). Get in left lane. At this light, take a left. It will put you on a fedder road under the high rise to the public boat ramp.
  6. Look for a blue sign at the light on your left that will read: Washington Baum Public Boat Ramp.

 

 

 FROM HATTERAS, BUXTON, AVON & RODANTHE:

 Take 12 North, over the Oregon Inlet Bridge, continue 8 miles to the first light, which will be 64 west

  1. Take a left, and follow the directions below...starting at go 1.5 miles
  2. Take this route 1.5 miles
  3. You will come to a high rise bridge, the Washington Baum Bridge. Across the sound to your right you will see lots of boats and condos. This is Pirate's Cove Yacht Club.
  4. After crossing the bridge, there will be a traffic light (approximately 500 yds after crossing). Get in left lane. At this light, take a left. It will put you on a fedder road under the high rise to the public boat ramp.
  5. Look for a blue sign at the light on your left that will read: Washington Baum Public Boat Ramp.

 

 

 

 FROM SOUTH NAGS HEAD

  1. On Virginia Dare Trail, go North past the Comfort Inn, which will be on your right
  2. Turn left at the 7/11, which will be on your left
  3. Continue to the traffic light, then onto the next light, which is 64 West
  4. Take this route 1.5 miles
  5. You will come to a high rise bridge, the Washington Baum Bridge. Across the sound to your right you will see lots of boats and condos. This is Pirate's Cove Yacht Club.
  6. After crossing the bridge, there will be a traffic light (approximately 500 yds after crossing). Get in left lane. At this light, take a left. It will put you on a fedder road under the high rise to the public boat ramp.
  7. Look for a blue sign at the light on your left that will read: Washington Baum Public Boat Ramp. 

     

     

    The boat and Capt. will be in the water waiting for you.  You will find plenty of parking along with clean restrooms for your use at the park.
